Most individuals with disabilities have the ability to make decisions for themselves, but when they do not, Coarc is happy to assist families in securing legal guardianship of their loved one. Coarc can also assist families in applying to NYSARC to provide guardianship services, should the need arise, particularly when guardians age. Arranging for guardianship of a loved one who needs this assistance assures families that their relatives with developmental disabilities have a guardian in place to help advocate for their choices, wishes, and autonomy.
