Job Title: Lead Mechanic
Program: Transportation
Location: Mellenville, NY
Start Date: As soon as possible.
Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
Status: Para-professional

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform all tasks assigned to maintain COARC’s fleet of vehicles to insure the transportation for COARC’s staff to meet the needs of the people that COARC serves. Must be able to perform routine inspections, diagnosing, maintenance, repairs, modifications, preventive maintenance and upgrades. Read and interpret drawings, manuals, and schematics. Maintain a system of inventory for vehicle supplies and parts. Supervise, guide, instruct and work with staff as well as supported/sheltered employees as directed. Other duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requires HS diploma or GED; Associates degree in Automotive Technical Services or similar program preferred. Two years experience working on both gas and diesel vehicles. Must have valid driver’s license and the ability to secure a CDL license with endorsements Must own and supply there own hand tools as necessary to inspection, diagnosing, maintenance, repair, modify, or upgrade all equipment in COARC’s fleet of vehicles.
