Habilitation Counselor

Job Title: Habilitation Counselor
Program: Promenade Hill Center
Location: Hudson, NY - United States
Start Date: Immediately
Schedule:   37.5 hrs per week Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 3:30 pm, paid lunch
(bus duties may affect hours to a 7:00 am start time or a 5:45 pm end time)
Status: Para-professional
Min. Starting Salary: $8.74 hr plus exceptional benefits!

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in the provision of services and training for participants in the Day Habilitation Program.Document service activities.Provide personal care, including toileting assistance, to adults.Maintain daily data, monthly progress reports, and other special reports that may be required.May include assistance to participants during bus transportation.


QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or GED required plus six months of experience with MR/DD population.Must have the ability to be certified in Standard First Aid, CPR, and SCIP.Valid NYS driver's license  required. Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds approximately twenty times per day. This position requires the ability to transfer, ambulate and give physical assistance to individuals and to implement physical intervention techniques per OPWDD SCIP training.
